Hotel status match guides

Status match is the fastest way to earn top-tier elite status (Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Globalist) without the normal 30-60 night stay requirement.

What is status match?

Hotel chains compete for your loyalty. If you already hold status in a competing program, you can "match" it to get a head start in a new program. Some chains run it year-round; others run it as a limited promotion.

Chains without direct match (and workarounds)

Strategy

  1. Start with Hilton (most generous match program, currently open).
  2. Once matched to Hilton Gold/Diamond, leverage promotions for cross-chain matches.
  3. For chains without match, use co-branded credit cards as an instant entry.
  4. Combine status match with 90-day challenges to accelerate tier upgrades.
